Dave Patrick
Elder
Dave's background is in engineering having earned degrees in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He's worked for several companies including Texas Instruments, E-Systems, Intergraph and Nvidia designing both image and graphics workstations. Dave retired from Nvidia in 2022 after designing graphics processing units (GPUs) for sixteen years.
In 1982, Dave met his future wife, Marsha, while in Dallas and was saved shortly after they were married through the tragic death of Marsha's mom. Since that time, Dave has spent almost 40 years teaching the Scriptures to both youth and adults. He was ordained to the ministry in 2002 and led a small church as a bi-vocational pastor for nine years before joining Capshaw Baptist in 2011. In 2003, he earned a Masters degree in Biblical Studies and has served on the board of a homeless shelter in McKinney, TX, helped start prayer ministries, a food pantry, led home groups, led services at an assisted living center for several years, and been on several mission trips abroad.
Dave's passion is to systematically dig into God's Word to more deeply discover who God is through His revealed truths and share that with others that we all might grow in our faith and in turn glorify the Lord through the proclamation of his good news.
As often as possible, Dave and Marsha enjoy doing life with their two adult children, Kristyn, who is married, and Brandon, who is engaged to be married. They also enjoy traveling in their RV exploring National Parks, hiking, and eating good food and s'mores by the campfire with friends.
