Huntsville Harvest of Internationals
The Huntsville Harvest of Internationals consists of a group of Christ followers from like-minded evangelical churches in north Alabama who recognize that God, in his sovereignty, has brought nations from all around the world to this area as refugees and immigrants, or for education and jobs. He has brought the nations to us! Because of this, we have been prayer mapping neighborhoods in Huntsville to find pockets of Internationals and potential harvest fields. We meet at the Burger King on Jordan Lane at 10:00 on Saturday mornings to discuss the plan for the day and go prayer walking in designated neighborhoods and apartment complexes. As we encounter both Internationals and local residents, we greet them and strike up conversations. We ask if there is anything we can pray with them about, and if the opportunity arises to encourage them and share the gospel, we do so. Our plan at Capshaw is to meet up on the first Saturday of each month with some from other churches at the Burger King. After prayer walking in groups of 2 or 3, we meet at an ethnic restaurant to debrief. If we can’t meet on that Saturday, we can go on any Saturday that works into our schedules. Someone will be going out each week.
If this is a mission opportunity that you would like to know more about, fill out the form below. You are welcome to join us at any time to see how God is working in the harvest field. You will not be sent out alone. You will go with someone who has done this before and will guide you. If you can’t go on a mission trip overseas, you can reach the nations right here at home!
“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” John 4:35.
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.
